Kids Camp began in 2002 as a ministry of SouthCoast Community Church with a desire to provide a safe and supportive environment for all children, ages 3 through completion of grade 12, regardless of religious background, race or gender. Offering a day camp experience with a Christ-centered perspective, this year our camps will be themed and will include: Music, Sports, Trust building / Adventure recreation, Bible study, Arts and crafts, games and indoor activities. The theme for the summer is "The Adventures of a Lost Summer". For many kids summer has been lost to televisions, computer screens and the couch. At SCCC Camps we believe the summer is about so much more! This summer we will help your child capture a time and place where the world can be explored, where they can play new and amazing games, create friendships that will be remembered forever, get away from their usual surroundings and experience nature, experience different activities and have fun! Each camp session is a journey and an adventure, complete with its own theme, sports and special activities. No two sessions are alike!
SCCC Camps are scheduled for both morning and afternoon sessions. The morning session will be held from 9 a.m. until noon. The afternoon session will be held from 1 until 4 p.m. Campers may register for either / or both sessions. Those choosing to attend both sessions are to bring a sack lunch. Two camps are offered for those students who have completed grades 6 -12 this year. Youth Camp will be held the last week of June from 9:00a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Monday – Thursday; Basketball camp and MAD Afternoon (music, art and drama) is scheduled the last week of July.
Lunch and Snack
Campers staying for the afternoon session are to bring their own lunch. In addition, SCCC Kids Camp will provide snacks two times each day. These snacks are included in your weekly camp tuition.
Camp Attire
A camp T-shirt will be provided each camper the first day of the first week they attend. Camp shirt must be worn on Thursday of each week. Every camper will be given one camp shirt with their initial registration, regardless of the number of weeks the camper is signed up for. Children should dress in comfortable clothes for general sports and activities. Tennis shoes please. No flip flops or sandals.
Weekly Schedule
SCCC Kids Camp is offered on a weekly basis. You may select the weeks you wish to attend. Each has its own unique theme and focus. Camp is Monday through Thursday from 9:00 AM to noon and/or 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Camp Curriculum
At SCCC Kids Camp we believe in introducing children to new horizons, adventures and activities. We also believe in the power and benefit of discovery and imagination at ones own pace and freedom. Therefore our curriculum balances both ideals.
Our Team
Without a doubt the most important part of your young child's experience with us is our staff. We have developed a team of individuals who have come together to help grow children in a loving, intelligent and safe environment. Our camp staff is comprised of students at universities including Texas Tech, Blue Mountain College, MS, Jackson State and Dyersburg State University, TN. Each team member is First Aid and CPR Certified, many have worked with SCCC Kids Camp before and all have gone through extensive training in the areas of early childhood, safety and leadership.
Days and Times
Morning Session - Monday – Thursday 9 am – noon
Afternoon Session - Monday – Thursday 1 – 4 pm
Age Appropriate
No program with a variety of different ages can offer any quality and safety without a committed age appropriate curriculum. Thirteen year olds shouldn't play basketball with six year olds. Besides, it’s not real cool! At SCCC Kids Camp we function in smaller age groups and larger camps for those enrolled. This assures a more customized and 'appropriate' curriculum and creates a much safer camp environment.
Providing the Best for Your Child
  • low camper to counselor ratios
  • fun, interesting and worthwhile activities
  • professional and committed administrative team
  • easy and convenient registration
Camp Format
Each camp week runs Monday-Thursday, from 9 AM – noon and 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM. At SCCC Kids camp you decide which sessions you wish to attend or attend them all.
During camp children are divided into small age-appropriate groups of no more than 10 with their very own counselor. These groups might combine with other groups or do activities on their own. Each day and week children are exposed to a variety of activities as well as opportunities to choose what they want to do. Nevertheless, each week is well thought out, planned and created by the Camp Team for the greatest benefit and fun for all.
